SOUTH BOSTON, VA Printing Pessman
Troubleshooting is an important quality. Understand what is being produced and producing the product in a trouble free manner. A printing pressman is responsible for stripping and burning metal plates or using polyester plates to produce the printed job. Mounts the plates on the press, sets the press up for the type and size of stock to be printed. Measures out fountain solution to be used on the press as it runs. Loads the correct color ink into the fountain and maintains the correct ink amount being printed by using the fountain controls. Set up the imprint on the sheet and makes sure it is printing correctly, printed straight on the sheet and that the quality is acceptable. After receiving approval to print, the pressman prints the order from the information on the work order and monitors the printing process throughout the run to maintain quality and accuracy. Depending on what else is involved in completing the order the pressman may be required to perform numerous bindery operations. Cutting, Padding, Scoring, Perforating, Folding, Hole Drilling, Numbering, Stapling, collating, packaging etc. We have four different printing presses that produce different size or different types of stocks to produce the products. We have numerous bindery machines as well.
